UIDAI NEW SMS SERVICE:: NOW LOCK-UNLOCK ADHAR CARD VIA SMS

Utility desk. Aadhaar card-making government Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched the new service 'Aadhaar Services on SMS'. The service has been launched for Aadhaar number holders who do not have access to the Internet, Resident Portal and M-Aadhaar. Aadhaar card users can avail benefits of Aadhaar Services, such as Virtual ID Generation, Aadhar Lock Unlock, Biometric Lock Unlock, through SMS.

What is Support SMS Services
You may use this service with only one SMS. It will work even if you have a normal phone for it. Learn how to take advantage of this feature.

Generate a Virtual ID with SMS
The first is to SMS 1947 with your registered number. Through it you can generate virtual identity (VID) generation. You can lock or unlock your Aadhaar number by sending an SMS. You will need an OTP (one time password) for support authentication and biometric lock or unlock. However, it will not be needed for VID generation or retrieval.

How to lock or unlock the base number
You must send 4 or 8 digits of the Aadhaar number to GETOTP <space> on 1947 to lock the base number. You will then get a 6 digit OTP. Then after LOCKUID <space> you should type 4 or 8 of the Aadhaar number followed by space followed by OTP. Then your Aadhaar number will be locked. You will then receive a confirmation call. You will not be able to use Aadhaar number through biometric or OTP after the base number is locked.

However, you can still use VID for anesthetics. You will need the latest VID to unlock the base number. For this you will need to SMS in this format on 1947. GETOTP <Space> to send 6 or 10 digits of VID to 1987.

Once OTP is detected you can unlock your base number. You must send UNLOCKUID <Space> VID 6 or 8 digit <Space> OTP to 1947 to unlock. Your base number will be unlocked with it.
